[movies]1949 DuMont Network PSA (Number 2 of 2)
A 1949 DuMont Television Network-Public Service Announcement, Number 2 of 2. This PSA tells the young viewers of "Captain Video" to give everybody a fair chance, regardless of Race or Religion. DuMont was a cheap network, but they did a lot for many people. DuMont, in fact, aired the complete McCarthy hearings (sadly no copies of their coverage survives today).

[movies]Compilation of DuMont Television Network IDs (Classic TV)
A Collection of Network IDs from the short-lived DuMont Television Network (1946-1956). The complete programs, from which these IDs come from, can also be found on this website. Curiously, along with the "Big Three", there were various attempts by other companies to compete in the days before FOX, they include: DuMont Television Network (1946-1956) Hughes Television Network (HTN) (60's/70's) National Educational Television (NET) (1952–1970) (Later extensively re-worked into PBS) Overmyer Netwo...

[movies]''Captain Video and His Video Rangers'' - Misc episode 3
Another incredibly strange episode of ''Captain Video and His Video Rangers'', the DuMont Television Network series which, in fact, was the first science fiction show ever to air on TV. However, to fill up time of each LIVE episode, they showed clips from old westerns. This episode also features original commercials. Reviews of the series at the time were mixed

[movies]YouAskedForIt_BelaLugosi
This is a rare episode of "You Asked For It", a program that originated in 1950 on the Du Mont Network, moved to the ABC network in the mid 50s, where it was cancelled in 1959, only to be revived three times in subsequent decades. The premise of the show was that viewers would choose the entertainment by writing in and requesting a program about a certain subject or featuring a certain personality, character or act...

[movies]''The Goldbergs'' - 28 September 1954
An episode of the DuMont Network version of "The Goldbergs". In this episode, Jake and everyone argue over who invented the half-size dress. (note: at the end of this episode, Molly wishes the viewers a happy new year in the Hebrew calender. Also includes "better schools" PSA)

[movies]1949 Public Service Announcement
A 1949 Public Service Announcement aired on the DuMont Television Network, reminding the young viewers of "Captain Video" that "freedom is everybody's job". This features the same background as the 1950 PSA I uploaded. DuMont was a cheap network, but in fact, they did a lot of good things, like airing the complete McCathy hearings (sadly no footage remains from their coverage). One must give them credit for good intentions.

[movies]Classic Commercial for Du Mont Laboratories Television Sets
A classic commercial for Du Mont Laboratories Television Sets. I took this from an episode of "School House" that somebody uploaded. Note: While the TV network can be spelt DuMont, the owner of the Network which produced TV sets is correctly spelt Du Mont, as that was the spelling perferred by the founder of the company.
